The older I get, I have changed so much, too. Like, my interests and hobbies and things I love change constantly. Society loves to put us in boxes, I refuse to put myself in one. LOVE this piece, it really resonates.

"I cannot and will not niche down." A mantra I am comforted to read. I have been in my head about my Substack not being "narrow enough" since I started it and lately I've been replying back to that thought with "f*ck it. The niche is me." Very relatable piece Jordan. I think it speaks to us as writers but more importantly to us as humans.

Yes SO true! I’ve learned to let go of the idea that just because I try something and then it “doesn’t work out” it’s not because I failed (whatever that means!) It just means I’m ready for the next thing that will light me up.

I love this take, the conversations we've had about it, and the way you've peeled back the onion even more here!

"I’m easily excited. I’m genuinely enthused by all manner of activities, hobbies, insights, and ideas." Some of my favorite things about you 💛 I, for one, am grateful for the tapestry of topics and forms your writing encompasses, and would hate to see that richness fade in the name of 'niche-ing down.'
