This was so, so fun to learn more about the origin story of love of travel—and of Paging Adventure specifically. Watching the way you continually make travel and outdoor adventure a priority feels both hopeful and inspiring to me, and makes me want to take a page (ha!) from your playbook.

I looked you up after yesterday's meeting and loved reading this! I'm a Wichita girl too (now in KC). I had a hunch when I saw your Central Standard shirt yesterday. I'm with you on loving travel...however, my husband would love if you could convince me to love camping :) We're doing Alaska in a camper van next year, and I can't say I'm overly excited lol.

KELLY! WHAT! You're from Wichita?! How did I not know this!! And are we living the same life? My husband and I are currently shopping for a van to convert and take to Alaska next summer. Except the difference is that I am absolutely OVERLY excited.

Haha teach me how to love it! I’m still in Wichita to see my parents from time to time. We should get together!

I am so inspired by how you've continued to prioritize travel and experiences even as your definition of "home" has shifted throughout the seasons! You and your husband are prime examples of seizing the opportunities life presents to you while still infusing your values in everything you do.

That’s exactly it! It’s a value of ours, so we prioritize it. I’ve definitely gone through levels (😉) to recognize where I’m feeling at the effect of my circumstances and where I can still honor this value where I’m at. Thank you for reading!!

I love your approach to embracing travel in this way. It’s inspiring. I am currently working on the last phases of my health journey to get fully mobile so we can start traveling again. My husband is an avid backpacker, and I want to join him. Thanks for showing me how awesome it will be when I get there :)

SO happy to hear this resonated with you, Nicole! Travel can look like sooo many things. It became something I prioritized, with the caveat that sometimes it's just a nice drive for the day to see some new trees.

Love habitual travel! When I was living in Canada, I would go somewhere once a month too. Not too far away, just somewhere max. 5 hours away, driving across the country. Now, that I am living in Europe, I've changed the way I travel. I go somewhere maybe every 2-3 months but then go for a minimum of five days. Sometimes when a plane is involved to get around Europe (trust me, European train travel only looks fun and romantic in movies), I enjoy these longer vacations. BUT - I do miss habitual travel sometimes!
