Welcome to Shade Cactus!
🌵 Let's get to know each other! Introduce yourself in the comments, and thanks for being here.
Hi! I’m Jordan. What’s your story?
Yay! I’m thrilled you’re here!
Introduce yourself in the comments, and tell me:
where in the world you are
your favorite travel adventure (of course, if you can’t narrow it down to just one, I see and honor that, and you can tell me about ALL of them instead!)
what book you read most recently
And anything else you’d like to share!
Shade Cactus is where being a cozy homebody and always planning your next travel adventure come to meet. Here, you’ll marvel the mundane and wish for your wild, while reveling in rest. (We also really appreciate alliteration around here.)
Check out the About page to learn more about what you can expect as a subscriber. Your free and paid subscription supports me as a writer. Truly, I appreciate you!
While here, you’ll find a travel blog / poetry newsletter / attempt to understand my inner world a bit better each day. As a Leo Rising and Enneagram 7, I live for fun adventures and trying new things (and being wildly, even annoyingly, enthusiastic about everything).
I collect hobbies like a cactus collects water… sporadically and as much as I want! So I’ll also share everything else I get up to in the beautiful life I’m fortunate enough to live and experience.
As to the questions above:
Wichita, KS (at the moment, but I’m on the move often!)
I can’t follow my own prompt! I have so many favorites (although, Sedona, Arizona holds a special place in my heart)
Making my way through the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas
A few other random things about me:
Leo Rising + Scorpio Sun & Moon
Pronouns are she/her/hers
Creative Manager in my day job
Paging Adventure travel content creator
WSET Level 2 wine certification (I’m a huge wine geek)
Married to my best friend for 12 years
My dog, Penelope, is the love of my life
Thank you SO much for being here! I hope this is a space where you’ll feel uplifted, your curiosity thoughtfully encouraged, and your laughter loud.
Cheers,
Jordan
Yay! So glad to see you here :)
So happy to have connected with you earlier today Jordan! Looking forward to reading your poetry and knowing more about this wonderful community of inspiring thinkers!
