Astrology told me last month was going to see a big change. How am I always surprised?
The end of April found me laid off from my job of nearly eight years. It was… a shock.
While I’ve swung from color-coding the crap out of my calendar, to reading a book from cover to cover in a single day, I’m reimagining what my new normal is like.
April also found me:
PR’ing in the gym
Receiving an anthology with my first published poem in print
Putting my own Kansas City itinerary into action for a long weekend trip
April also found me in my first broken streak of publishing my weekly Substack essay since October. To my subscribers, I hope you’ll forgive me. I found myself frustrated that having more time available meant I was writing even less. Make the math make sense!
But then I allowed myself a bit of grace to recognize this was a life-altering event, and I’m still finding my footing. So, April’s Monthly Scroll is moseying on in about halfway into May. And honestly, doesn’t that just feel perfectly April anyway?
No rushing about? Allowing the slow growth to bloom?
These Monthly Scrolls are a special benefit available to my paid subscribers. Feeling FOMO? Became a paid subscriber so you don’t miss out!
