Full. Full is the word that comes to mind for December. All of the definitions would fit, both positive and negative — full calendar, full belly, full heart. At times, the fullness felt overwhelming and like too much. At other times, the fullness felt well and good and festive.

Finding pockets of joy feels both easier and harder during December. The world at large just seems to be in a more festive state, and yet the amount of events and consumption stuffed into the short month can leave an introvert disoriented… (hi)

…all while attempting to wind down the year and do what we can to hibernate in a world that never stops. Something that has been feeling surprising and good for me lately is my actual excitement for winter. (This is not typical for me!)

This season, I feel drawn to the mysticism of the dark and the rumination of the season. During this week of the held breath, I’m elongating my muscle of noticing while attempting to release any rushing.
